In the run up to the JooVuu X being released, I wanted to run a few blogs from the testers themselves about what it has been like to test and help develop the JooVuu X. This is the first in a series of posts to be posted from the testers themselves. No editing will occur except to alter grammar, spelling, punctuation, layout etc. Please feel free to ask the testers anything and get their opinion on here, the forums (www.joovuu.com/community), or dashcamtalk.
What is has been like to test the X?
For me personally it has been a great experience. It was a bit of both an up and down hill battle, but I am very happy and feel very fortunate to be able to not only get in on the ground floor and truly have my input valued, but also really test this camera out in ways other people have not done before. You get to submit feedback and really see the camera take shape. I have really enjoyed every step up the way and it has given me as a consumer new insight to just how much work it really takes to get something like this going. I hope to be able to do it again. What do I think about the X?
Honestly with a lot of the issues ironed out at this point I love this thing. It goes where I go and does not miss a beat. I have had it running half a day every day since I got it and it has been great. It sits on the brim of my hat and does not complain. It sees what I see. Where traditional dash cams fall short this one picks up because it moves with me since it is on my hat. I look left it looks left I right it right you get the idea. I actually even caught a near miss in a car park while I was outside of my car with the X I heard a car horn looked towards the noise and as I looked it filmed. I feel it is important to be protected both in and outside of a car, and the X helps me do just that. Remember these people that drive like nuts eventually get somewhere and get out. (170)
What has been good?
I would have to say that over all I have had a positive experience with the camera and have been thrilled to work together with a great group of people to help bring everything together It is nice to have a team that shares the same passion as I do to deliver a good of a product as possible to the end user. What been bad?
The only real down side that are just what comes with the usual R&D. I personally had a little bit of more down time then I would have liked because my sample unit had some bugs that needed fixed, and I was rather excited to use it, but again that is just something that comes with the testing territory. You have to take the good with the bad to help things get flushed out for the consumer. I feel very confident that the camera is almost to the finish line here (67)
I can honestly say that anyone in the market for a DashCamera should give the X an honest look. I used to be in the has to have a screen camp if you will, but the X WiFi is catching up well and almost there. I feel really comfortable having it in my car and on my person when between those hours of footage that I don’t really need that when those few minutes strike that I do it will be there sitting happily watching my back. The specs are there, the combustibility is there the size can’t get much smaller then it is. There is not really anything I could think of personally changing. (115)
