There is a saying, ‘penny wise, pound foolish’. In otherwise, you may save a few pennies to begin with you, but you will end up paying more in the long run. This expression comes to my mind when a customer just placed an order for a JooVuu X. He messaged us explaining his predicament. He bought a cheap car camera from China because he didn’t want to spend much money. His camera had numerous faults when he received it but as most Chinese sellers state the return postage is up to you and it would have cost him £15 or so. He decided to chuck this one away and bought a slightly more expensive one but from a different Chinese seller. He installed it and 3 months later got side swiped in the central reservation. The other driver claimed it was his fault and our customer felt confident that with his evidence he would be fine. The camera had not recorded anything. Literally nothing. He contacted us explaining this and stated three things:
- He wanted a reliable car camera
- A micro car camera
- A UK car camera so if anything went wrong he could easily return it and get help.
I felt sorry for this customer as he had wasted now from the first car camera and his second car camera close to £80 and had nothing except a lot of stress and two useless car cameras.
We get told two things the most by some online people: ‘lower our prices’ and ‘I can get a cheaper car camera’. If we lower our prices then our support and development goes and we just become another generic Chinese car camera company. We know you can get a cheaper car camera but then you don’t get the support, development, and customer service when you need them. So yes, you may save a few pennies is it really worth the risk?
