Making the best micro car and action camera is no easy feat, but the hardest part is improving it once released and making it the best affordable reliable action and car camera around. Rather than instantly selling 1000s of cameras what really happens is you receive modest sales (if you’re lucky) and so much feedback it can easily crush your spirits and dishearten you.
Our JooVuu X got off to a rocky start, it wasn’t the most reliable affordable car or action camera around, and people were letting us know. Endless comments, tickets, emails and forum posts giving us feedback almost crushed us. But, we did what we always do – we regrouped. We started to fit the feedback into four categories: URGENT (IQ/Reliability fixes), App Fixes, Reasonable User Requests, and the last section: Hopefully we can do this….one day.
We soon found a pretty strong trend and we set about to fix it. Fixing issues when you say them out-loud sound so easy, but when it actually comes to fixing them with code, they’re anything but. We tried 9 different ‘fixes’ before we finally fixed our one major bug. 9 attempts to solve one bug. We discovered and fixed other bugs just trying to fix this one, but now we have the camera is better than ever…we really can say it is the best affordable reliable car and action camera around.
What really happens when you make a car camera or anything for that matter, can be boiled down to: it’ll be hell. It doesn’t matter how much testing you have done, how much research you have done, something major will go wrong. What matters is how you deal with it, it’s going to be tough, you will want to give in and just go to a normal job, but if you do – you’ve lost. Have a cry, have a breakdown, take a day or two off, and then come back. Find a solution. Break things down. Make things work and before you know it – you’ll be where you want to be!
